📣 Pennsylvania Passed a Budget — But People with Disabilities Were Left Behind While headlines focus on increased funding for schools, the reality for people with disabilities in Central PA is very different. Centers for Independent Living (CILs) like ours were level-funded again this year — no increase at all — even as demand for services is rising faster than ever. With major shifts in long-term care, housing cuts, reductions in mental health funding, and skyrocketing need for advocacy and navigation support, more individuals are turning to CIL Opportunities for help. Our team is doing everything we can to keep people independent, safe, and connected in their communities — but the gap between needs and resources is widening. Now more than ever, we need our community, partners, and policymakers to recognize the essential role CILs play in Central Pennsylvania. ✨ Independence isn’t optional. It’s a lifeline.
